The Alo 24 Restaurant is quite specialized as they still use old recipes dating back from years ago and many people go there for dinner or after a night out. You may also order a nice breakfast there too.  Their soups are very specialized and traditional as well as their kebabs and their Turkish pizza which is better known as ’Lamacun’ in Turkish.

The owner Husein Bey has a very warm character and kind demeanour and could not be more helpful.  Thus they have a successful chain of restaurants and a pansion; they are also certificated for their hygiene standards too.  This accreditation is something they are very proud of and what keeps their quality standards high and their customers regular.

They are easy to find as they are in the road where the Wednesday clothes market is held or where the Dolmus station is too.  The road that is straight up in front of the main entrance to the Belediye building will take you up to Dunya Optik on the top left corner where the Dolmuses pull in.  (Dunya Optik who is also a member of our VIP scheme).  When you turn right after Dunya Optik just up on the opposite side of the same road which is quite mainstream, you will see Alo 24.  Or quite simply just order in instead!

Walk along Ladies Beach until you see the sign for Rosy’s. It is a higher quality choice along the many restaurants and bars. The waiters are not only friendly but stand out as being very professional and well mannered. Their prices are extremely good in comparison to elsewhere and they have a pansion attached to their establishment too. Their lunch menu is very good and in the evening you can be right down on the edge of the beach, with the sounds of the waves as you enjoy a good quality meal and drink with family or friends. With our drinks order taken, we perused the menu trying to decide what to eat, while we could see Zaffer busily preparing an order for 150 pide’s. Even though he was so busy he still provided us with a sample pide to whet our appetite.

Zaffer has gained a wealth of experience in the catering industry during which he spent six years working in Switzerland.

His extensive menu starts off with a choice of breakfast from 5 -10TL, Omlettes from 8 – 10TL, Snacks including burgers, jacket potatoes, salads and sandwiches from 5 -10TL, Vegetarian dishes from 9 – 10.50TL, Pasta dishes from 11 – 12TL, Starters from 5 -6TL, Pides from 2.50 – 10TL, Pizzas from 6 – 12TL, Main courses including steak, chicken and lamb dishes from 15 -25TL, Special Kebab dishes from 10 – 15TL, Chicken dishes for 12TL, and Fish dishes from 10 – 12TL. The drinks menu is also very affordable starting with soft drinks from 1 – 4.50TL, Alcoholic drinks from 3.50 – 25TL for a bottle of wine and Cocktails at 12TL.

Our snack arrived and was a much larger portion than we had anticipated. There was no need for us to have an evening meal at home that day!!

We have since visited Kent on several occasions and tried various main course dishes off the menu. Each time we were served with bread and cheese to start and fresh fruit, if we could manage it, after our meal. We have to say our expectations have been constantly surpassed by the excellent presentation, portion size, taste and service.

WELL WORTH A VISIT !

Their cocktails are also named in an alternative way too and to name a few more unusual ones, there is the African Tiger, Wet Lips, Jiggy Jiggy and the one that made me laugh is the BMW, hmmmmm this is short for, “bring me women”.
